Showcase: ESB Christmas Card 2009

ESB (Electricity Supply Board) is an Irish semi-state electricity company. As one of the largest companies in the country, with about 7000 employees, it is composed of several distinct organisations: ESB Networks, ESB Power Generation, ESB Customer Supply and ESB International.

Design Brief

Our task was to create a Christmas Card that would reflect the myriad of activities undertaken by such a large and diverse organisation. The Christmas Card was going to be sent to all ESB employees and corporate partners, replacing the paper format of previous years, as part of the ESB's environment policy.

The client wanted a interactive card that people could actually open and close, in order to retain the Christmas feeling, while reflecting both the traditional and modern aspects of the company.

A series of images of the company's activities were incorporated, along with Christmas music and an animated winter scene, night sky & wind turbines.

Feedback from the Client

Patrick Casey Design created the 2009 Christmas Card for ESB. Their design reflected both the traditional Christmas and ESB's long service to Ireland going back over 80 years. All of our messages were incorporated clearly and cleverly, and the cards were extremely well received both internally and externally. The guys at Patrick Casey Design were a pleasure to deal with, and were always happy to give their time to ensure we were a satisfied customer.
