Before working on our website, my experience was solely in print magazines. I was nervous that I wouldn't understand what was going on. However, the guys at Patrick Casey Design were fantastic at explaining the whole process and answered all of my questions. Web Design Brief

The publishers of Easy Food magazine wanted to bring the recipes and articles of the print edition to an online audience in an easily digestable format.

Our brief was to create a website that would display all the recipes, articles and other content to their best advantage, while maintaining the 'magazine' look & feel that the readers were used to. The site had to provide the facility for visitors to search through a recipe database, sign-up for membership, search through articles (by keyword, date, topic, etc.), participate in forums & polls, and subscribe to the magazine.

The client also required the facility to log into the website and create, edit, and remove content and generally control the behaviour of the website through the use of a Content Management System (CMS).

Ingredients

This was a design-collaboration between Patrick Casey Design and the in-house magazine designers. It was designed and mocked-up in Adobe Photoshop CS5 and InDesign. The site code was written in PHP, HTML, jQuery and CSS. Analytics were included to track visitor statistics, and a powerful Content Management System (CMS) was added.
